Nomonde Zona Magadla (b. 1993, Durban, South Africa) is a South African Artist and Digital Designer based in Durban. She completed a BA in Fine Art at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, in 2016.

Working across drawing, painting and digital media, drawing remains central to Magadla’s practice. Through it, she explores identity and the experiences that shape who we become. Grounded in personal reflection and observation, her work uses drawing to navigate memory, perception and self-understanding.

Her work has been exhibited in the Association for Visual Arts Members Exhibition (2018), MONOCHROME at StateoftheART Gallery (2020), and New Now Next Emerging Artists at Galerie Noko (2021). From 2020 to 2024, she maintained a digital portfolio with StateoftheART Gallery. She has also contributed to educational and community engagement initiatives through the University of Cape Town’s Clanwilliam Living Landscape Art Project and the Irma Stern™ Museum’s high school education programmes. Alongside her studio practice, Magadla works full-time as a Digital Designer in Durban. Her experience across digital design and fine art enables her to move between visual communication and a slower, more contemplative studio practice. She continues to develop new bodies of work through her independent practice.
